SLATINGTON, Pa. - The Walnut Street Bridge in Slatington, Lehigh County is closed Monday, and it's not going to reopen for a while.
The county says the bridge, which spans Trout Creek and Factory Street, is in rough shape.
Replacing it is expected to take two to three years and cost about $7.5 million.
But bids for construction contracts won't open until December.
In the meantime, all traffic will be redirected to Main and Church Streets.
Pedestrians will still be able to get across on one side.
